I was thinking about setting a different default map for the Garry's Mod 9 Server... and alot of people seem to like freespace03, so you decide.

Why not switch off every week?
Though, in terms of Freespace, I think v6 is better. Making a building in the center of town looks really cool. That, and it has water for people who like to make boats.
In fact, the whole map is better, IMO.

Besides, I know this really fun game you can play with an NPC spawner, the spire of the framework building, some dumpsters, and a Tau cannon.

Either way. If I were motivated enough, I'd make a big epic freespace-type map for FaceWAN, but not only am I lazy, I'm bogged down with school and I don't know how to map for Source games yet.
I agree a change is in order, though, and Freespace is a good choice to change to. Either of them.

    freespace 06
does not play well with pre dx9 cards, 06 will not put on server for that reason, I for one do not have a dx9 card, not to mention quite a few others do not as well.

Espeon and I discussed this a while back.

We actually already have a map to use it just needs to be configured correctly, the E fort 3 was supposed to be on it.

An anti-noclip section for admins or whomever knows how to get in to build in, two elevators a sliding door to let out the creations of the admin, very deep water about 7 times more than hugeflatmap, there is no ramp to get out of the deep water, but I can set up a elevator to the deep section and perhaps a small island in the middle or something.

It should be pretty nice, there a few things that I plan on adding to it, but most everything that people like on both freespace and flatmap.

Lol, put like an underwater building in there. Bonus points for an airlock and small sub bay. Spotlights/windows are a must.

I'm sure i could do some of that, but as far as a sub goes not possible.

HL had the same restrictions as far as water went, you can't just throw some water in an area and have it fill up, if I toss a sub in the water it will fill up with water regardless, water is a brush not a fluid. As far as an airlock goes that is possible. I was planning on building a dry dock though.

I meant a place to keep a sub, not the sub itself, like a little area where you drive the sub in, up a little, and it breaks a surface inside the place. And I realize the brush restriction.
Wouldn't it be possible to have multiple brushes such that it makes a hole?

Keep in mind I've not mapped for Source, but I've used that trick with Lava in another game.

Also, if you can move a water brush, that would do the airlock. Clear it out, lower the brush into the ground, fill it up, put it back. But I don't know if that would work, so it's just a thought.

But the whole idea may be a little to complex for a build map. It would be cool, though.
